The hate my father bore

Seriously - was anyone surprised they went mental last night? If they'd won, it would have been a "victory riot". As it was, they got their asses kicked by the Russians and so felt entitled to have a "defeat riot" instead.

I was personally on the receiving end of some Rangers fans' abuse a few years ago, traveling by ferry from Scotland to Northern Ireland. When they heard my accent (and that of my parents and sister) i.e. from Dublin, they began chanting and shouting at us. Then some charming sectarian songs. Not a single person on that ferry said a word in our defence.

These are complete bigots and use sport as a channel for their hatred. What they did in Manchester last night was inexcusable. You have to ask: what other city is now going to lay on organised entertainment for Rangers fans when they come to visit?
