Dim matter
CERN is Enlightenment's first cathedral. Instead of celebrating this fact, the media spent today crashing together microscopic levels of insight to create a vision of the apocalypse. It's pretty difficult for the Large Hadron Collider to create black holes if it's not, y'know, colliding. For the next few moths all they're going to be doing at CERN is shooting beams of particles in one direction round the ring. It'll be the end of the year at the earliest before they start mashing protons together at near light speed. And humanity can take another step forward; from the flickering shadows on the cave walls.
